This blog is a way for the pastors and elders of River Oaks: Clover Hill to send regular, Christ-centered encouragement to our body. We call it “10:1” because of the ratio given by Robert Murray M’Cheyne: “For every look at yourself, take ten looks at Christ.” That’s a good ratio! We need to take an occasional glance at the state of our souls, but much more, we need the steady gaze of our hearts to be fixed on the Lord Jesus!

Sermon Discussion Guides
Each week we provide discussion guides for our Growth Groups based on Sunday’s sermon passage. You can use these guides to prepare before you go to group, for your own spiritual growth, or in one-on-one discipleship. The goal isn’t to answer every question or go in order, but to use a few questions to go deeper with Christ.
If you’ve never attended a Growth Group, feel free to browse a guide or two. These are the questions groups discuss each week and will give you a sense of what those gatherings are like.
Parents, each guide will now include a section at the end with questions to help you talk through the sermon with your kids during the week. These are geared toward younger children; for older kids and teens, you may find the main questions helpful as well.
We pray these resources encourage and strengthen your walk with Christ!
